What can I say? Saturday night was a long time coming,too long, but all the promotion we did payed off in a big way,the crowd that turned up(200% bigger than Klub Skanks original crowd 2 years ago) travelled from all over, North London,Margate,Dartford,Maidstone,all the old faces and a lot of new faces too! I didn't realise that my biggest competition was gonna be Madonna,Duffy and Radio Ones Big Weekend! The weather was terrific and that helped because if it was raining and everyone had stayed inside we'd of been in trouble as we'd gone over the fire regulations limit.The night had its fair share of minor mishaps,my vinyl decks packed up and the noise regulator kicked in just when I was doing my set three or four times but generally speaking......Wow! Dougie from the Dorset Modrapheniacs Scooter Club stalled out and made more money selling Harringtons and T shirts than he did stalling out at this years Yarmouth national rally! A couple of things I noticed during the night, I caused a mini stampede of people trying to get back in the door and on to the dance floor when I played Simmer Down by Bob Marley and the Wailers(an old favourite) and a phenomenon that I'd only ever noticed at Northern Soul Do's before and that is people clapping after I'd played certain tracks (come on, its a fucking record!!!!) I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank my DJ's John Paley, Andy Barton (Pressure Drop), Jay, my partner in crime Carl and everyone that turned up and made it such a successful night!
